DAMASCUS, SYRIA – December 17, 2025 – Future Union, a leading Qatari institution for large-scale project financing, and the Syrian Petroleum Company held a strategic meeting today in Damascus to discuss mutual cooperation and investment opportunities within Syria’s vital energy sector.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Abdelgalil Sharaf, CEO of Future Union, who was in Damascus leading the company’s regional board activities. He was joined by members of the Future Union Syria board. The Syrian delegation was led by Mr. Youssef Qaballawi, CEO of the Syrian Petroleum Company.
Focused Discussions on Project Synergies
The high-level session served as a platform for both parties to present and review strategic project developments of mutual interest. Discussions centered on potential projects championed by Future Union and opportunities presented through the Syrian Petroleum Company, Syria’s national oil and gas entity.
Dr. Abdelgalil Sharaf described the meeting as highly productive, stating it marked a significant step in exploring concrete partnerships. “Our engagement with Syrian stakeholders is a sustained strategy,” said Dr. Sharaf. “Today’s fruitful discussions with the Syrian Petroleum Company are a key part of our commitment to contributing to Syria’s development landscape through strategic investments.”
