Phosphate Company Chief Hosts Future Union Syria Delegation for Strategic Talks on Development Projects
Mr. Siraj Al-Hariri, Director General of the Syrian Phosphates Company, received a high-level delegation from Future Union Syria in Damascus today to discuss avenues of cooperation and review potential projects of mutual interest.
The visiting delegation was led by Mr. Khaldun Aafach, Deputy Chairman of the Board and General Manager of Future Union Syria, and included Mr. Mohammed Raj, a member of the company’s Board of Directors. The meeting focused on exploring collaborative work and strategic opportunities, marking another step in the Qatari conglomerate’s deepening engagement with key Syrian economic sectors.
Building on Established Partnerships
This high-level discussion follows a series of strategic engagements by Future Union in Syria. The company formally established its operational presence in the country last December, convening its inaugural board of directors meeting in Damascus.
Future Union’s strategy in Syria is already active. In October 2025, the company signed a memorandum of understanding with the Syrian Public Railways Authority. This agreement aims to develop and modernize the national railway network, a critical infrastructure project that includes restoring the vital line linking phosphate mines to the export port of Tartous.
