Historic Strategic Partnership Forged Between Future Union Qatar and International Energy Services Limited for Major Nigerian Energy Projects
In a landmark ceremony held in Doha today, Future Union Qatar and International Energy Services Limited (IESL) signed a major strategic partnership agreement, witnessed by His Excellency Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad bin Nasser Al Hamed Al Thani.
The event marked the signing of a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) covering four distinct energy sector projects in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The centerpiece of the agreement is a large-scale natural gas exploration project, valued at approximately USD 2 billion, alongside several other strategic ventures.
An expanded meeting followed the signing ceremony, where the full scope of the projects, detailed action plans, and strategies for parallel implementation were reviewed. The portfolio encompasses both short-term initiatives, such as petroleum products supply, and long-term exploratory projects.
His Excellency Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani expressed his strong commitment to operational expansion in Nigeria, highlighting the established presence of Future Union through its subsidiary, Future Union Holding Nigeria. He emphasized the strategic importance of the Nigerian market and the partnership’s potential to significantly contribute to the energy sector’s development.
The agreement was formally signed by Dr. Abdelgalil Sharaf, Chief Executive Officer of Future Union Qatar, who commented: “This is a pivotal step in our strategic growth plan. Partnering with a respected industry leader like IESL allows us to leverage our combined expertise to execute these critical energy projects efficiently and to create substantial value in Nigeria’s dynamic market.”
The signing was attended by Engineer Mohammed Al-Mahisi, Director of Development, and Ms. Amal Al-Jazouli, Office Manager to the CEO.
His Excellency Sheikh Abdulrahman extended his gratitude to Dr. Diran Fawaibe, Chairman of International Energy Services Limited (IESL), and his accompanying delegation for their collaborative spirit and shared vision. The ceremony was also graced by the presence of Princess Debo Odutola.
